Galway, Ireland, Sunday
Apr. 14th, 2013 12:54 pmLeda thought that part of the point of Portalocity was to avoid jet-lag. But as it was she'd left the US at about 8pm, and the portal dropped her off at the Airport in Ireland at 8am. So if she wanted to get onto a normal sleep schedule for Ireland she'd have to stay up for quite some time. She hoped they had redbull or some equivalent here.
Then it turned out that she had arrived several hours too early for the bus to Galway City. Or, so it had seemed. Here was a bus that looked like it was going the right way now. After a few hours ride on the bus, it took her right back to the airport. The bus she hadn't wanted to wait for.
But! Now she was finally in the city and some friendly folks in the only open shop (it was Sunday) had told her about a lovely walk along the river that would take her to her lodgings, a sort of tourist village called Corrib.
And the walk was nice. It was jacket weather, but her dragonskin duster kept her comfy, and the scenery was beautiful. There really was something about Ireland that felt like coming home. Now she just had to keep awake for a while. Quickly! To find other tourists to chat with.
What luck! Australians!
