"Holy....holy shit." Leda gasped. "Ladies of Never You Mind, Mother Night and...Tori Amos. We did it."
"What's this 'we' thing?" Tristan grimaced, rubbing his injured wrist. He'd likely have to get that looked at. Also his nose was bleeding. She may have shouted in his mind at one point. "I just added an ingredient. You did all the baking."
The midwife gently handed the slightly wriggly bundle into Leda's arms, and Tristan lightly stroked it's head.
"Well, easy part's over for you dad." the Elf Queen snickered exhaustedly. "Before you know it you'll be performing those speeches you think I didn't know you were writing."
Tristan blushed. All throughout Leda's pregnancy he'd been surreptitiously composing fatherly lectures for any circumstances he foresaw. Everything from why one must learn to use a toilet to what to watch out for when dating.
"Also, don't think you're getting away with any 'It's your turn to check on her' bullshit. I'm taking you with me every time."
Tristan actually had not plans on not being the one to go check on the baby every time. His own father had not been the most present parent, and he expected he might wind up over compensating.
The infant squirmed again, and Leda tickled one of the baby's ears.
"We made a person."
[Yep, baby's here. Definitely open for calls or what have you.]
